Out of all the bands that are touring the country as part of the V festival (which was scheduled to continue in Melbourne and Perth this weekend), the stand-out act was Canadian band Hot Hot Heat. The band had an early afternoon slot at the Sydney event, long before any of the headline acts took the stage. But they had the rapt attention of fans because of stirring, striking vocals from lead singer Steve Bays. The performance was indeed so hot, it was the best at the festival.
