my friend found a little article about hhh on their new album in the ap magazine with head automatica on the cover.

"This record is way more of a rock record", says Hot Hot Heat frontman Steve Bays, before clarifying, "Not in an AC/DC way, though." Now we know what not
to expect on the band's third proper full-length, due
out this September via Sire; so what can we
expect? "Well, I'm not as optimistic about love anymore, "
Bays says, chuckling. "It's definitely more bitter.
Musically, I think it's a lot more dramatic, heavier
and more aggresive." Wait, are H-cubed going metalcore?
Whats the deal? "YOu know my definition of 'heavy'
is probably different than yours, " he deadpans. "But
it doesn't matter where the music goes; my voice is
always going to sound like my voice." And his voice
along with a smorgasbord of instruments (including
cowbell-yes!) was put to tape at a studio in
the band's hometown of Vancouver with Stuart
Sikes (Modest Mouse, The White Stripes) engineering, with the indie-pop quartet
sharing production duties with Butch Walker
(The Donnas, Midtown). "We recorded 15
songs, 11 to 13 which will make the record, " Bays says.
"Butch co-produced 8 of the songs, & we did the other
7 by ourselves." Among the songs for inclusion
on the disc include album opener "My Best Fiend"
(described by Bays as "Black Sabbath meets
Adam Ant") and album closer "Happiness
Limited, " which features a 50-person chant and is
labeled by Bays as "grand" & "epic". "These are
important songs, " he says. "They're not just little
diddies anymore."

I like reading articles where they say the album is coming out in September, because I am starting to lose hope in the whole idea!

I'm losing hope as well. Oh well. I guess this will be a lesson in patience for me.
