#1- elevator. no he didnt. and also luke is part of hot hot heat, he is in the band and was at the time the record was released, why should he recieve any less "face space" than the other members.
because he had nothing to do with the record. why isnt dante isnt in the layout. well im pretty sure this will be their "last" record. i doubt this new guy can even pull half as much as what dante did. dante is what made the band. those are some HUGE shoes to fill. dante and andy dixon needs to join a band. thatd be amazing

dante made the band? hmmm...what about the other 3 guys? luke is fabulous and fits right in with them - he's a cool guy that is really laid back and doesn't give them grief.

i see that youve been on this board for a while so i assume you know a little more than the others. yeah the other guys are awesome really amazing human beings but dante's guitar skills are downright unique and undescribable. quirky off beat jerky chords. and i don't know of anyone else who has that style. thats why i like the band so much. but when it comes down to it their first record was amazing without dante and another singer. why couldnt they have just formed two different bands. what a waste.=(

paul and steve wrote most of the songs. Have you talked to them or read their interviews, paul is pretty clear that if dante were still in the band this record would be much different. And also seeing luke live, he can pull off anything that dante did. And he has a great sound.
But in the end it doesn't matter because steve and paul will still probably write all of the songs.
actually from what i've heard the writing was a pretty even three way split between steve paul and dante. i've also heard that dante wrote many of the songs that are responsible for hhh's success (bandages, talk to me, etc.) so i don't think we should underestimate the impact of his departure.
judging from the interviews i've read, i just think paul's a little bitter over dante leaving, while steve + dustin seem more diplomatic. i think dante was quite classy about it though considering he stuck around for almost a year after he wanted to quit in order to fulfill his obligations and allow the band time to replace him.
sure luke can play the riffs that dante wrote well enough, but it remains to be seen if he can come up with his own.

That right there is a brilliant post and extremely accurate post in all aspects. Im staying on the fence regardless of my connection. Luke is a great musician and even better guy. Right now he is stuck playing riffs that my cousin wrote. It's as simple as that. The next album will obviously allow him the opportunity to flex his creative muscle. But the fellas are bright enough to hire someone who is capable of doing a job, not just plucking prewritten chords.
-Greg I say the right words, but act the wrong way. I like it round here, but I cannot stay.

If u would bother to read the inside of the cd cover, u would notice that Dante has the recording credit & a thank you line. Luke is on the cover/posters ect becuz he is the one touring now in support of this album & who the new fans will be able 2 recognize.
Luke is very nice & has done a great job in the recent live shows I've seen. Obviously he will not be a clone to Dante, but that's ok. It's taken me a lot of years to realize that change can be good & we shouldn't be afraid of it!
Does it really matter if its Luke instead of Dante on the cover...I mean like Deb said,Dante does have the recording credit. Its the same music and sounds the same, Luke must be more compatible with the band. And I agree with Deb again, he is touring in support of Elevator.
it's always said when a member leaves a band, but usually they can fins a suitable replacement not that I am saying luke could replace dante, but he has been a great addition to the band.
